The Tbaytel Motorcycle Ride for Dad presented by Winmar is Saturday June 17, 2017. Included is a full day of exciting activities for riders, passengers and spectators. The day starts off with registration and a hot buffet breakfast for participants at 7:30 a.m. followed by the thunderous Roar for the Cure at 9:30 a.m. when over 325 Riders simultaneously kick start their engines and head out on a parade down Arthur Street followed by a scenic Poker Run in and around the city of Thunder Bay, ON.
There will be raffles and games at the Victoria Inn, with incredible prizes for both participants and the general public to win. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the bikes and activities.
This unique event is held in support of prostate cancer care through the Northern Cancer Fund. 100% of the proceeds stay in Northwestern Ontario to fight prostate cancer through advanced awareness and treatment.
"Both my dad and my brother Peter are my inspiration. My Dad had prostate cancer and Peter, who also had cancer, participated in the event for a few years. Pete’s last ride was June 14, 2003. He earned 5 natural aces that day, however, shortly after receiving his prize for the best hand he succumbed to his cancer, collapsed and was taken to the hospital where he died 2 days later – he was 2 weeks short of his 47th birthday. In his honour, the 5 Aces Award is celebrated at the annual Ride for Dad sponsored by the boys he rode with (John, Arto, Lyle, Michael)..."
